Which method is considered appropriate will depend not just on the case itself but also on the view
of the lawyers handling the matter. The more informed we can be as lawyers, the better able we
will be to select the right service for the claimant and the more engaged we will be in the process..
In this issue of EvaluATE, we have invited Paul Balen of Trust Mediation to share his experience over
the last seven years of being one of NHSR's chosen mediation partners.
Anna Sari, Partner and Head of Medical Negligence at Morrish Solicitors, shares her thoughts on
mediation and her approach alongside Ian Long, Partner and Defendant Clinical Negligence Lawyer
at Brown Jacobson, who invites us to consider the position from the defendant's viewpoint.
Finally, it would be naive to ignore the cost benefit that mediation will deliver ATE insurers, and so
we conclude with a view from DAS. My thanks to all our contributors.
Paul, Anna, Ian and representatives from DAS will be taking part in our next webinar at midday on
Tuesday 23rd April. Please follow the link below to sign up for our webinar. If you have any questions
for our expert panel, please feel free to submit them in advance at ateenquiries@das.co.uk
